THE CHALLENGE

Challenge

A regional NHS Trust had data spread across five different clinical systems with no unified view of patient journeys. Clinical leads were making discharge and resource decisions based on intuition and incomplete spreadsheets. The information governance requirements added an additional layer of complexity — any solution had to meet NHS data security standards and receive IG Toolkit sign-off.

OUR APPROACH

Approach

We mapped clinical decision-making workflows before touching any data. Every analytics feature was designed around a specific clinical decision with a named owner. We built a unified patient journey model using pseudonymised data, implemented row-level security so clinicians only see their own patient cohorts, and shipped a mobile-responsive dashboard that works on ward tablets. The entire build followed NHS DSPT requirements throughout.

THE RESULTS

Results

Clinical leads can now identify deteriorating patients 72 hours earlier using the at-risk cohort model. Bed occupancy forecasting accuracy improved from 61% to 89%. The platform received NHS DSPT compliance sign-off in the first assessment cycle. Three additional departments have since requested access.
